Being offered for sale is arguably the finest, most original, matching numbers, un-restored 1969 L36 427/390hp Corvette to be found. This is an absolute time capsule of a factory stock 1969  Big Block Corvette. The car has its original Burgundy lacquer exterior paint with completely original Black vinyl interior, M40 Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission, 427/390hp engine, and 3.08:1 positraction rear axle. The car has 33,667 documented miles, with 5,107 miles in the last 43 years and 60 miles in the last 11 years and comes with the original Sales Invoice, Window Sticker and Protect-O-Plate. The car has received in 2016 and 2017 Gold Standard in national Corvette judging awards, the NCRS 4 Star Bowtie Award and NCRS and Bloomington Gold Benchmark Award (Gold Certified and Survivor). During the rigorous NCRS and Bloomington Gold judging process, the most knowledgeable and experienced Corvette judges were amazed at the originality and condition of this 1969 Burgundy Big Block Corvette. In NCRS judging the car achieved a Top Flight Award score of 98.8, which was matched with a Bloomington Gold Certification score of 98.8. For a 48 year old original / un-restored Corvette to achieve judging scores at this level is truly exceptional and puts this Corvette in an elite class of extremely well preserved original Corvettes, which are truly few and far between and which can not be duplicated.

The significance of an un-restored vs. restored vehicle is clearly articulated by Hemmings Editor in Chief, Richard Lentinello in his book: It’s Only Original Once, when he states: “Original cars…are our only glimpse into the past, thus affording us the wonderful opportunity to study first hand the way manufacturing techniques were carried out during all the different decades and periods of automobile production. We can see how the assembly line workers applied the paint and inspection marks how the upholstery was stitched and carpet was bound…and which types of fasteners were used for specific applications. Better than shop manuals, unrestored cars are existing proof of the way automobiles used to be built they are the only true guidebook that restorers can use to ensure that the cars they are restoring are rebuilt to the factory correct manner.”

Rare are the collector cars untouched by time or restorers—cars that still wear their original parts, paint, upholstery and trim. It’s their rarity and significance which make these cars stand out at collector-car auctions around the world and explains the high prices they command and the pride in ownership, which accompanies these cars. These cars are paid special attention at the most prestigious automobile shows, such as the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Meadow Brook Concours d’Elegence, Amelia Island Concours d’Elegence, Antique Automobile Club of America Shows, Bloomington Gold, and Mopar Nationals.

This 1969 Burgundy Corvette Coupe is a nicely optioned investment grade collectible automobile, with A01 Soft RayTinted Glass, A82 Head Rests, G81 Positraction Rear Axle, J50 Power Brakes, L36 427/390hp Engine, M40 Turbo Hydra-Matic Automatic Transmission,N40 Power Steering, P02 Deluxe Wheel Covers, P17 White Stripe Tires, TJ2 Front Fender Louver Trim, UA6 Alarm System, and U69 AM-FM Radio.
